Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Montevallo dropped a conference road test in Livingston, Alabama, 83-56, Monday Night.
Montevallo connected on three consecutive trips to open the game and take an early 7-2 lead on UWA, but a shooting disparity proved to be the difference throughout the road battle. West Alabama shot over 50 percent from the field in both halves and finished at 52.5 percent for the game, while Montevallo posted a 36.8 mark from the floor.
Following the Falcons' early lead, a 13-0 run vaulted UWA to a lead they would hold throughout behind 17 three-pointers.
In the second half, Montevallo made a late push with a 23-8 run to trim UWA's lead to 22. However, it wasn't enough as shooting woes plagued UM the rest of the way and UWA continued to hit from deep.
For the second consecutive game,
Jaylen Curry finished as UM's leading scorer with 15 points as a trio of Falcons scored in double-figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED

st | UM opened 3-for-3 from the field and held an early lead 7-2 inside Pruitt Hall in the first two minutes. An ensuing 13-0 Tiger run put UM behind and gave the hosts its first lead – one they would hold the rest of the way. Down 12, 23-11, with 8:58 remaining in the first half, back-to-back three-pointers from
Brandon Fussell and Cam Glover cut the UWA lead in half, 23-17. The Tigers closed the final 6:18 of the opening half on a 19-4 run to lead 42-21 at the break.

nd |UM got off to a slow start to open the second half as UWA began with a 13-0 run over the first 3:17. After the Tigers took its largest lead of the game, 65-26, Montevallo responded by making eight of its next nine field-goal attempts to trim the deficit to 22, 73-51. A 10-5 advantage the rest of the way for UWA kept Montevallo at bay.
GAME NOTES
- Montevallo, averaging 91 points per game on the season, marked a season low in points-scored with 56.
- Despite allowing 17 three-pointers to UWA, UM's defense held the Tigers to 83 points – the lowest points against this year.
- UWA shot 52.5 percent from the floor and 46 percent from deep. 17 of the Tigers' 32 total field goals came from three-point range.
- Montevallo finished 10-of-24 from downtown for a 41.7 clip but shot just 36.8 from the floor. Seven of UM's 10 three-pointers came in the second half.
