BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – In the final meet before the Gulf South Conference Championships, the Montevallo track and field teams posted solid performances at the South Alabama Invitational with graduate student
Joe Leventry running an NCAA Div. II provisional time at the Boston University Scarlet and White Invite.
Amongst a host of Div. I competition in Birmingham, freshman pole vaulter
Leah Dendy tied the Montevallo record with a mark of 3.50-meters (15
th). Junior
Amber Fisher posted the highest finish of the afternoon for the Falcons with a sixth-place mark of 5:12.58 in the Mile. On the field side of the women's competition, Nyla Shipman cleared a mark of 15.20-meters (13
th) in the weight throw.
On the men's side of the competition,
Julian Fore earned the highest finish of the day with a sixth-place time of 1:56.13 in the 800-meter race. Junior
Joshua Pruitt leaped 13.98-meters in the triple jump for an eighth-place mark while
Caleb Kariuki finished just behind with a jump of 13.89-meters (10
th).
Leventry was the lone Falcon at the Scarlet and White Invite hosted by Boston University where the graduate student ran an NCAA Div. II provisional time in the 3,000-meter with an 11
th-place time of 8:18.12.
