DESTIN, Fla. – The University of Montevallo women's golf team finished second at the Emerald Coast Classic with a three-round score of plus-51, in Destin, Florida, Tuesday.
Sophomore
Madison Rincon led the way for Montevallo in the second-place finish as she tied for 10
th with a three-round score of 11-over. The Palm Desert, California native was the tournament leader after round one as she carded a two-under 69 – the second lowest round of the tournament.
After shooting a combined 302 in round one and 313 in round two, the Falcons moved up four in the final standings to second after carding a four-over 288 total in the final round.
Caterina Oliveri posted the lowest score of the final round for UM with an even-par 71.
Freshman
Denise Paulsson finished tied for 14
th in the final standing after moving up four spots with a two-over 73 in the final round. She carded scores of 76, 76 and 73 for a 225-three-round total.
Meredith Bennett was the third-highest finisher for the Falcons as she placed tied for 22
nd at 16-over. She carded a one-over round on the final day to help UM move up. The sophomore finished with rounds of 77, 80, 72 for a 229 three-round total.
Oliveri rounded out the top four as she finished tied 25
th at 17-over with rounds of 80, 79 and 71.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Montevallo finished the 17-team tournament in second place for the highest finish since the Full Moon Invitational on Sept. 13, 2022.
- The Falcons opened the tournament in third following the first round, dropped back to sixth after the second and moved up four spots to second after the final round.
- Montevallo finished ahead of West Florida (t-4th) who was the only other Gulf South Conference school in the event.
- Four Falcons placed in the top-25, led by Madison Rincon who finished tied for 10th. She registered the second lowest round of the tournament with a 69 in round one.
