KANSAS CITY, MO. – University of Montevallo men's basketball's
Braxton Bertolette has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District First Team.
On the South Region All-District Team, Bertolette represented the Falcons on the First Team and is one of only two members from the Gulf South Conference named to the First Team.
Bertolette led the GSC in scoring this season with 22.1 points per game this year, ranking 14
th nationally, and was named the GSC Player of the Week three times. The senior from Fort Collins, Colorado scored a league-leading 620 points on the year and also led the conference in points per game (22.1), free-throw percentage (91.2), free-throws made (134) and field-goals made (208). He ranked in the top-30 nationally in all of the aforementioned categories.
This season, Bertolette broke several program records. First, the guard broke a single-game record with nine made three-pointers against Alabama-Huntsville on Nov. 26, before closing out the year with a record-shattering performance against AUM on Feb. 25. Against the Warhawks, Bertolette scored a record-breaking 50 points and added two more single-game records as he went 20-of-24 from the free-throw line.
Bertolette finished the year with 22.1 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and played in all 28 contests with a team-leading 35.9 minutes per game. He finished his career as the all-time leader in free-throw percentage with a 87.4 percent mark from the charity stripe in three seasons.
