ATLANTA, Ga. – The Montevallo men's and women's track and field teams posted two event wins and five podium finishes in the first day of the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open on Friday.
For the men on the track,
Lane Tincher headlined the afternoon with a first-place time of 34:27.14 in the 10,000-meter run.
Drew Roberts added a fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 15:28.13.
The women's track squad was highlighted by
Amber Fisher's third-place finish after running the 5,000-meter race in 19:45.58.
Natalie Warner and
Ana Watters finished second and third in the 10,000-meter run with times of 41:44.71 and 42:24.55, respectively.
Zauren Burton posted Montevallo's second win of the day after leaping 1.60-meters in the high jump.
Nautica Swain took home the bronze in the Javelin with a final mark of 35.70-meters (third).
Caleb Kariuki posted the lone podium in the men's field events on day one with a third-place mark of 6.89-meters in the long jump. Freshman
Isaiah Gabriel added a top-five finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.85-meters (fifth).
Gaines Myrick added the final top-five of the day with a mark of 47.67-meters in the hammer throw for fifth.
UP NEXT: The Falcons are set to complete the two-day meet on Saturday, March 25.
