NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Montevallo women's track and field team ranked sixth in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Region poll.
 
Montevallo slipped one spot from last week's fifth-place ranking. The Falcons are the fourth-highest ranked Gulf South Conference squad behind Alabama Huntsville (second), Mississippi College (third), Lee (fourth), and West Georgia (fifth). UM holds a ranking higher than five other GSC teams in Christian Brothers, Shorter, West Alabama, West Florida and Valdosta State.
 
The Falcons ranking comes after two-consecutive third-place finishes first at the Falcon Classic on March 17-18 and then the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open on March 24-25.
 
The Falcons are back in action on Friday, April 7 for the first day of the Kennesaw State Invitational.
