Box Score Rome, Ga. - The University of Montevallo women's lacrosse soars above Shorter in their first Gulf South Conference win of the season.

A first quarter shutout, along with six first quarter goals by the Falcons put them in a great position early.
Kiley Shea scored Montevallo's first goal, with 12:02 to go in the first. This was followed up by
Carsyn Tinney's free position goal six minutes after the first draw.
Jenna Piazza added the falcon's third goal at the 6:23 mark with an assist from
Lily McCormick, who turned around and scored her own on an assist from
Chloe Norman three minutes later.
Anja Kuys and Shea both added goals in the final thirty seconds of the period, putting the falcons ahead 6-0

The second period started much like the first, with Montevallo scoring two goals, one from
Claire Withington and one from
Lily Moats on a free position at the 12:10 and 11:28 marks respectively. Shorter then added their only two goals of the game before
Amber Lynch got into the action, scoring with under two minutes to go. Withington added her second goal of the quarter with 0:30 on the clock, stretching the lead to 10-2.

After the break, the Falcons got right back to business as they shut out the hawks in this quarter as well.
Mikaela Barbieri scored her first goal of the game on a free position shot at the 12:51 mark.
Crystal Williams added goal number twelve for Montevallo with 10:43 to play in the quarter. Piazza scored one more for the falcons before Lynch finished off the quarter with her second goal on an assist from McCormick. This pushed the Falcon lead to 14-2

The Falcon's defense in the fourth didn't let up, allowing no goals. On the offensive side, Withington started off the falcon's scoring on an assist from Williams at the 13:47 mark.
Jodi Morawiec scored a goal with 6:08 to go on an assist from
Emma Berni, who paired up with the net on a free position goal in the final three minutes, finalizing the score at 17-2.
