MONTEVALLO, Ala. - University of Montevallo Head Men's Basketball Coach Anthony Komara has announced the signing of transfer Tevin Gowins to the 2023 class.

Gowins, a 5'9 sophomore guard from Florissant, Missouri has signed with the Falcons as part of the 2023 class.
 
The guard joins Montevallo after playing one season at NCAA Division-I Southeast Missouri State. During his lone season with the Redhawks, Gowins played in 18 games off the bench. He scored a career-high seven points in 21 bench minutes against Williams Woods.
 
Before joining SEMO, the Missouri native prepped at Hazelwood Central High School where he averaged seven points, 5.4 assists and 2.7 boards per game as a senior.
 
In 2022-23, Gowins helped SEMO to 19 wins, an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division-I March Madness Tournament.
 
Gowins will join the Falcons in 2023 and pursue a degree in Business Administration.

Komara has now signed nine to the 2023 class. Gowins joins previous signees Reese Gurner, Justin Graham, Cameron Glover, Josiah Morris, Brandon Fussell, Carson Pringle, Landon Butler and Tyson Sexton. So far, the class includes five transfers and four true freshmen.
