KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Montevallo women's soccer entered the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll at No. 10 in the week one rankings.
 
Montevallo earned its spot in the regional rankings after taking down Kentucky Wesleyan 6-0 on Thursday, Aug. 31 before going into Trevecca Nazarene and leaving a 4-1 victor. Montevallo's weekend was highlighted by a GSC Defender of the Week honor from Madeline Milby and a GSC Freshman of the Week nod from Lainey Farabaugh.
 
The Falcons come into the rankings as the fifth-highest ranking Gulf South squad behind second place West Florida, No. 3 Lee, No. 6 Mississippi College and No. 9 Alabama in Huntsville.
 
UM finished the 2022 campaign just one spot outside of the NCAA Tournament teams at seventh in the South Region.
 
Montevallo is back in action on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. to take on West Alabama in a non-conference matchup at Varsity Field.
