Falcons Punch Ticket to 2024 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – For the first time since 2019, Montevallo women's soccer is headed to the NCAA Tournament.

OFFICIAL BRACKET

For the first time in program-history, Montevallo women's soccer earned an At-Large bid to the 2024 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship Tournament after finishing the season with a 12-5-3 overall record. The Falcons' selection as the No. 3 seed in the national tournament is the highest seed Montevallo has received after being the No. 6 seed in the 2007 NCAA Tournament and the No. 4 seed in the 2019 national tournament. Both Falcons' previous trips to the national tournament came after the Falcons won the automatic qualifier provided to the winner of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

The Falcons' selection as the third seed in the south region sends Montevallo to Melbourne, Fla. to take on sixth-seeded Embry-Riddle on Friday, Nov. 22 with kickoff set for 3 p.m. The winner of Friday's first-round match will take on host Florida Tech who received the No. 2 seed after winning the Sunshine State Conference tournament. Of the six teams selected from the south region, three hail from the GSC with West Florida and Union also earning bids to the NCAA Championship.

The south region seeding is as follows: No. 1 West Florida, No. 2 Florida Tech, No. 3 Montevallo, No. 4 Union, No. 5 Nova Southeastern and No. 6 Embry-Riddle.
