MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo cross country teams represent two of the total 41 teams set to run in the 2024 NCAA South Region Championship race hosted by Alabama Huntsville on Saturday, Nov. 9. The men's 10k race will begin at 9:00 a.m. while the women's 6k is set to start at 10:15 a.m. at John Hunt Park.

Montevallo Men
The Montevallo men look to improve on last year's 12
th place finish at the 2023 South Regional. The Falcons last saw action two weeks ago earning a ninth-place finish at the GSC Championships.
Joseph Pitard led the way for UM and placed 35
th overall with a time of 25:49.30 in the 8k.
On the men's side, Lee holds the top spot in the region and in the GSC. Alabama Huntsville follows behind in second, while SSC leader-Florida Southern rounds out the top three. Four other GSC teams are included in the region rankings including Mississippi College (fourth), West Florida (seventh), Auburn Montgomery (eighth), and Christian Brothers (ninth).
Montevallo Women
The Montevallo women look to improve on last year's 13
th place finish at the 2023 South Regional. UM last saw action at the GSC Championships, securing a sixth-place finish in Mississippi.
Natalie Warner led the way for the Falcons and placed 22
nd overall with a time of 23:43.00 in the 6k.
Lee sits in first place on the women's side as well, while SSC leader-Nova Southeastern ranks second and Florida Southern rounds out the top three. Four other GSC are in the region rankings including Alabama Huntsville (fifth), Mississippi College (sixth), West Florida (ninth), and Union (tenth).
Action at John Hunt Park is set to start at 9:00 a.m. with the men's 10k, followed by the women's 6k at 10:15 a.m.
