HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Montevallo Cross Country teams closed the 2024 season at the NCAA DII South Region Championships, with the women finishing ninth and the men placing 12
th at John Hunt Park.
Montevallo Men
The Falcons earned 360 points to place 12
th place overall, while UM finished as the seventh best GSC school. Lee secured the top spot with 39 points, while Alabama Huntsville (63) and Mississippi College (81) rounded out the top three.
Jackson Howse led the way for Montevallo and placed 57
th overall. The sophomore finished with a time of 33:42.87 in the 10k.
Joseph Pitard was the next Falcon finisher, placing 68
th with a time of 34:20.93.
Cameron Prosser placed 70
th with a time of 34:22.15 and
Josh Stidfole paced a 34:38.76 to finish 78
th.
Parker Hicks rounded out the top-five scorers, placing 87
th with a time of 35:01.49. Mateo Lopez Hernandez (35:02.79) and
Keegan Rafferty (36:56.56) rounded out the finishers for UM.
Montevallo Women
The Falcons tallied 275 points to secure a ninth-place finish overall, while UM finished as the fourth best GSC school.
Natalie Warner led the way for the Falcons, placing 25
th overall to secure an All-Region finish. The senior clocked in at 22:53.8 in the 6k. The next Falcon finisher was
Abby Snyder who ran a 23:51.0 to finish 45
th.
Morgan Remley ran a 24:18.9 to place 62
nd and
Reagan Oliver finished 70
th with a time of 24:49.3.
Sarah Turner rounded out the top five scorers, finishing 73
rd with a time of 24:54.1.
Brooke Ramsey (25:16.3) and
Olivia Blackmon (25:26.7) rounded out the finishers for Montevallo.
