BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Montevallo men's basketball duo
Brandon Fussell and
Camden Andrews garnered both Gulf South Conference Weekly awards after starting GSC play 2-0 with wins over Lee and Trevecca.

Fussell averaged 30.5 points per game on 61.8 percent shooting with a 58.3 percent clip from long range and a near perfect 12-for-13 mark from the stripe while adding 2.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 steals per game and 2.0 assists. In the Falcons' first win over Lee since 2018, the Guntersville, Ala. native added his second 30-point game of the season with a 33-point outing on 11-of-15 shooting and 5-of-7 from deep while picking up two rebounds, two assists and three steals. Fussell followed up with a 28-point game in a win over Trevecca while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe while pulling down three boards and recording two steals and two assists. Fussell is now the second-leading scoring in the GSC at 19.8 points per game.
Andrews finished his first GSC weekend with an average of 14.5 points per game on 56.3 percent shooting and 80 percent from long range while adding 6.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists and a steal. In Montevallo's win over Lee, the redshirt freshman tallied 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting and 3-of-4 from the stripe while grabbing seven rebounds, one assist and one steal. The Memphis, Tenn. native went on to score 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 3-of-3 from deep while pulling down six rebounds, dishing out four assists and recording a steal in the Falcons' win over Trevecca.
Fussell and Andrews head out for the first conference road trip of the season on Dec. 12 when the Falcons take on Delta State in Cleveland, Miss.
