Falcons Set for Two-Game Road Trip in the Carolinas

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse heads to the Carolinas for a two-game road trip against Belmont Abbey and Limestone.
 
So Far This Season…
Through three games, the Falcons have faced off with a pair of ranked teams while posting a 1-2 record in the early going of the 2024 season. The season began with a loss to the No. 15 ranked Embry-Riddle, 20-4, on Feb. 3. The Falcons rebounded with an 18-11 win over North Greenville before dropping a meeting with No. 7 Rollins, 23-3.
 
A trio of Falcons are tied at the top of the team's scoring with five goals each from Kiley Shea, Ellery Shearer and Mikaela Barbieri. Shea is also the team's leader in points with a pair of assists for a total of seven points so far this season.
 
Scouting Belmont Abbey: WATCH | LIVE STATS
With two games passed on the schedule, Belmont Abbey is 1-1 so far in 2024. The season began with a 21-5 loss to Limestone on Feb. 7 before the Crusaders earned the first win of the season with a 19-7 victory over Catawba on the road.
 
BAC's attack is led by Katelyn Miller who has scored seven goals on seven shots on goal for more than double the second-most goals on the team. In the assist column, Hailey Carroll highlights the Crusaders with four assists to go along with three goals for a total of seven points. In the net, Summer Eddinger has played every minute of the first two games allowing 14 goals per game on 72 shots faced.
 
Series History Against Belmont Abbey:
Friday night's matchup will be the first time Montevallo and Belmont Abbey have faced off in women's lacrosse.
 
Scouting Limestone: WATCH | LIVE STATS
The Saints head into the weekend with a 2-0 record with a 21-5 win over Belmont Abbey to open the season. Following a game that was canceled, Limestone added a 17-8 victory over Young Harris on Feb. 13.
 
Offensively, the Saints are led by Reese Hjertaas who owns seven goals on the season while Joscelin Martin follows closely behind with six goals in two games. Megan Davis leads Limestone in the assist column with six on the season.
 
Series History Against Limestone:
The two sides have met just once in the short history of Falcon women's lacrosse. On Feb. 13, 2022, the Falcons fell to Limestone, 14-8, on the road.
