Falcons Travel to Georgia for Neutral Site Meeting With SCAD-Savannah

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse looks to rebound from a loss to Limestone with a neutral-site meeting with SCAD-Savannah on Friday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.
 
So Far This Season…
The Falcons have struggled in the early part of the season with a 1-4 record through the first five games. Montevallo began the season with a 20-4 loss to No. 15 Embry-Riddle before rebounding with an 18-11 win over North Greenville on Feb. 9. The Falcons then went on a three-game skid with losses to No. 7 Rollins, Belmont Abbey and Limestone.
 
The Falcons score and average of 8.20 goals per game while allowing its opponents to score 17.80 goals per outing. Montevallo averages 3.80 assists per game while causing 8.00 turnovers per outing. The Falcons also record and average of 10.00 draw controls per game with a 63.8-percent mark in clears.
 
Individually, the Falcons are highlighted on the defensive end by Madison Sobolewski's 2.20 caused turnovers per game which ranks second among GSC leaders. On the offensive end, Kiley Shea, Ellery Shearer and Mikaela Barbieri lead Montevallo with nine goals apiece while Shea, Shearer and Jenna Piazza lead the team with three assists each. Piazza leads the Falcons with a 5-for-6 mark in free-position attempts.

The Bees enter Friday night's contest with an 0-1 record after falling to Emmanuel College 13-12 in an overtime game for the season opener.
 
In the season opener, Annisa Berkely lead the Bees with four goals on seven shots on goal with a trio of Bees scoring a pair of goals in the season opener. Grace Gibson led SCAD-Savannah with five ground balls with Gibson and Eden Ali lead the squad with three caused turnovers each. In the net, Lorna Fowles recorded 19 saves in the season opener while allowing 11 goals in 49 minutes played.
 
Series History Against SCAD-Savannah:
The two sides have met just once in the Falcons' history with Montevallo taking a 13-8 win over the Bees on March 5, 2023.
