MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Senior, Nyla Shipman has been selected for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championship. Shipman will represent Montevallo in the weight throw event. The Troy, Alabama native is the second Falcon to advance to the National Championship in Indoor Track and Field and the first ever Falcon thrower to make it to nationals. Nyla won the weight throw and was crowned conference champion at the GSC Indoor Track and Field Championship with a throw of 18.50 meters.
 
"We are proud of Nyla and can't say enough about what she has accomplished," said Head Coach Tommy Barksdale. "She has worked hard, been dedicated and deserves this opportunity. We are excited to see what she can do on the big stage."
 
The City of Pittsburg, Kansas will host the NCAA Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 8^th and 9^th at the Robert W. Plaster Center.
