Box Score Saint Leo, Fla. – Montevallo women's lacrosse drops first game of spring break road trip to Saint Leo 25-3.
The first quarter started with a draw control win for Saint Leo. The Lions had two shots leading to one goal on this possession after a save from
MacKenzie Griffin. Unfortunately for the Falcons two saves, three shots on goal, and four draws were the only stats they could add to the stat sheet. Saint Leo went on an 11-0 run in the first quarter including five free-position goals.
The Falcons were able to find their first goal of the game in the second minute of the second quarter. Jannea Piazza scored on a free-position shot with 13:39 on the clock. The lions added three more before another free-position goal from the Falcons.
Kiley Shea put one into the back of the net with 3:21 to go in the period. Saint Leo added one more goal before the end of the period, pushing the score to 15-2 at halftime.
Saint Leo grabbed three early goals in the third period. Asheli Piazza added two saves on back-to-back shots by the Lions at the 6:47 mark and 6:40 mark, before Saint Leo rounded out the period with two more goals. The Period ended with a score of 20-2.
Much like the third quarter, Saint Leo was able to strike first in the fourth.
Ellery Shearer added a goal on an assist from
Trinity Rose at the 8:49 mark before the Lions rattled off four more goals to end the game. The Falcons finished down 25-3.
