NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Montevallo cross country teams performed well on Saturday morning, as the men placed first and the women placed second behind NCAA D1 Austin Peay at the Michael Pretorius Invitational.
Montevallo Men
The Falcons earned 35 points to secure the first-place finish, edging host-Trevecca Nazerene by three points. Austin Peay (63), Tennessee State (105), and Central State (130) rounded out the final standings.
Joseph Pitard led the way for the men and placed third overall with a time of 26:35.56.
Cameron Prosser was the next finisher for UM, running a 27:13.49 to finish sixth overall.
Josh Stidfole also finished in the top ten, placing ninth overall with a time of 27:21.20, while
Parker Hicks ran a 27:59.25 to finish 13
th.
Mateo Lopez-Hernandez rounded out the top five scorers for UM, pacing a 28:27.47 to place 18
th.
Montevallo Women
The Falcons earned 42 points to pick up the runner-up finish, coming behind NCAA D1 Austin Peay (21). Trevecca Nazarene (61), Tennessee State (125), and Central State (130) rounded out the final standings.
Natalie Warner led the way for the women placing fifth overall with a time of 20:05.93.
Abby Snyder and
Josie McDonald finished back-to-back, placing eighth and ninth, respectively. Snyder ran a 20:18.45, while
Josie McDonald paced a 20:27.88.
Morgan Remley also finished in the top ten, placing tenth with a time of 20:32.74.
Sarah Turner rounded out the top five scorers for the Falcons placing 12
th with a time of 20:39.60.
Montevallo returns to action on Friday, Nov.11, competing at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
