BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has announced its Women's Soccer Weekly Awards with Montevallo's Lara Brewis and Ayla Ertekin earning the conference honors.

Brewis, a senior defender from Sydney, Australia, tallied her first career GSC weekly award as the conference's defensive player of the week after a 1-1 week for the the Falcons. In the Falcons' outing against No. 6 West Florida, the senior helped to hold one of the top attacks in the country to just two goals on 10 shots in 90 minutes of action. The senior then scored her first career goal as a Falcon on a pair of shots in 88 minutes of Montevallo's 3-1 win over Spring Hill on Oct. 25.
 
Ertekin's third Freshman of the Week award follows a pair of contests that saw Montevallo go 1-1 in the final two conference games of the season. The freshman fired five shots on the week with four on frame with her fourth career goal. In Montevallo's matchup with No. 6 West Florida, Ertekin scored the Falcons' lone goal on two shots with one on target before adding three shots on goal in Montevallo's 3-1 win over Spring Hill.
 
Brewis and Ertekin will take to the field on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. on the road at Columbus State.
