MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team is set to play its first conference series of the 2025 season, hitting the road to face off against West Florida this weekend in Pensacola, Fla.

So Far This Season…
Montevallo holds an overall record of 4-3 through the first two weeks of the season.

The Falcons opened the season, splitting a pair at the Gulf Shores Invitational, defeating Oklahoma Christian (3-2) and falling to No. 9 Rogers State. Montevallo posted a 3-2 record at the Chillout, as the Falcons earned wins over Kentucky Wesleyan (4-0), Shorter (4-3), and Young Harris (9-7), before falling to Georgia Southwestern and Lincoln Memorial.

Through the first two weekends of the season, Kiley Christopher has recorded best batting average on the team, boasting a .368. Ariana Pinder has also been solid at the plate, leading the team in hits (eight), RBIs (five), and slugging percentage (.417).

Taylor Lloyd has seen the most time in the circle pitching 17.2 innings. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn. native has posted a 1.98 ERA and holds a team leading-13 strikeouts. Berkley Mooney has also been solid in the circle, posting a team-best 1.40 ERA which ranks fifth in the GSC. The freshman has allowed three earned runs in 15 innings pitched.

The Argonauts opened the season with a 1-3 stint at the Gulf Shores Invitational. The Argonauts defeated Saint Leo, while falling to Nova Southeastern, Florida Tech, and No. 25 Central Oklahoma. Last weekend, UWF defeated Lake Erie twice and split a pair against No. 8 North Georgia.

Hannah Harper has been solid at the plate, leading the team in batting average (.500), hits (14), homeruns (three), and slugging percentage (.929), while Emma Brice has a team leading-nine RBIs.

Haley Guffey and Hannah Harper have led the way for the Argonauts in the circle. Guffey has pitched 32.2 innings and posts a 2.57 ERA, while Harper posts a 3.40 ERA in 22.2 innings pitched.

These two squads have met 25 times with West Florida holding a 16-9 advantage in the overall series. The Argonauts took all three games last season against Montevallo.
