MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse heads out for the first pair of a three-game road trip against Tusculum and Mars Hill on the weekend.
So Far This Season…
Montevallo enters the weekend with a 1-3 overall record after opening the season with a 16-15 win over Converse on Jan. 31 before falling to Emmanuel on the road, 18-16, on Feb. 2. The Falcons then hosted No. 12 Lynn in a 21-6 loss before falling to No. 15 Embry-Riddle, 21-4, on Feb. 9.
Montevallo has recorded 42 goals in the first four games of the season while adding 15 assists for a total of 57 points. The Falcons have tallied 12 goals on 24 free position shots for a .500 mark as a team while scoring five woman-up goals. Defensively, Montevallo has tallied 70 ground balls while forcing 46 turnovers and winning 41 draw controls.
Ellery Shearer leads the Falcons' attack with 15 goals on the season while
Kiley Shea ranks second on the squad with seven goals and added a pair of assists for nine points.
Mikaela Barbieri has also tallied six goals while
Jenna Piazza leads Montevallo with three assists. Freshman
Bridget Quayle highlights the Falcons with seven caused turnovers while Shea leads with eight draw controls.
Scouting Tusculum: WATCH | LIVE STATS
Tusculum heads into its matchup with the Falcons after topping Shorter, 15-11, in the Pioneers' season opener on Feb. 8.
In the first game of 2025, Tusculum tallied 15 goals on 34 shots with 30 shots on goal while picking up 18 ground balls and forcing six turnovers. The Pioneers defense allowed 11 goals on 29 shots with 18 shots on goal while making seven saves.
Kayla Nuccio and Cassidy Bourne led TU on opening day with four goals and an assist apiece while Sophia Didzbalis and Elisha Stack tallied two goals each. In net, Emily White recorded the win with 11 goals allowed on seven saves.

The two sides have faced off just once in the short history of Montevallo women's lacrosse. On March 13, 2024, Montevallo topped Tusculum 14-11 in Montevallo, Ala.
Scouting Mars Hill: WATCH | LIVE STATS
Mars Hill opened its 2025 season with a 12-4 win over Southern Wesleyan on Feb. 12 in the Lions home opener.
The Lions scored 12 goals on 24 shots with 20 shots on goal while adding a trio of assists for 15 points in the season opener. Mars Hill added 37 ground balls while forcing eight turnovers and winning six draw controls. The Lions also went 2-for-4 on free position shots while going 30-for-39 in clears.
Haley Stallings and Kendall Middleton led Mars Hill with four goals each in the win over Southern Wesleyan while Middleton added two assists for a game-high six points. Defensively, Angie Laruy led the way with three caused turnovers while Emma Porterfield tallied nine saves on 13 shots faced in 60 minutes in goal.
Series History Against Mars Hill:
The Falcons lead the series with Mars Hill 2-1 since the series began on March 11, 2016. Mars Hill took the first meeting, 15-14, before the Falcons added two-straight wins with a 14-3 road win in 2021 before, most recently, taking a 14-7 road win on Feb. 17, 2023.
