MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team opens the 2025 homestand on Tuesday, as the Falcons welcome Spring Hill to Softball Stadium at Orr Park for a doubleheader.

So Far This Season…
Montevallo holds an overall record of 6-4 and a 2-1 mark in GSC play.

The Falcons opened the season, splitting a pair of games against ranked opponents at the Gulf Shores Invitational, defeating No. 24 Oklahoma Christian (3-2) and falling to No. 9 Rogers State. Montevallo posted a 3-2 record at the Chillout, as the Falcons earned wins over Kentucky Wesleyan (4-0), Shorter (4-3), and Young Harris (9-7), before falling to Georgia Southwestern and Lincoln Memorial.

Montevallo opened conference play last weekend, earning a 2-1 series victory at West Florida. Ariana Pinder led the way for UM on the weekend, recording seven hits and posting a .583 average. Taylor Lloyd and Rachel Whiddon earned wins in the circle for UM.

On the season, Pinder is leading the way for Montevallo in multiple categories including, hits (15), batting average (.417), RBIs (six), slugging percentage (.500), and on-base percentage (.421). Kiley Christopher has been solid as well, earning ten hits and posting a .357 batting average. Kennedy Hussey has a team leading-six walks on the season.

Taylor Lloyd has seen the most time in the circle for the Falcons, pitching three complete games and 30.2 innings total. Lloyd posts a 2.28 ERA and leads the team in strikeouts (19) and WHIP (1.11). Rachel Whiddon has posted a 1.62 ERA which leads the team and ranks sixth in the GSC. Whiddon has two wins and one save, while pitching 13 innings total. Berkley Mooney has the best opponent batting average in the GSC, posting a .125. Mooney has a 2.14 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched.

Spring Hill holds an overall record of 1-7 on the season.

The Badgers defeated No. 4 Lenoir-Rhyne, while falling to Valdosta State, No. 25 Central Oklahoma, Lubbock Christian, and West Alabama at the Gulf Shores Invitational. Last time out, Spring Hill dropped three games to Mobile.

Taylor Pittman leads the Badgers in multiple categories including, hits (12), batting average (.522), and slugging percentage (.739), while McKenzie King has a team leading-four RBIs. Pittman has recorded the lone home run this season for SHC.

In the circle, Spring Hill has three pitchers who have pitched over ten innings so far. Emma Curry has posted a 4.96 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched, Rycca Hinton has a 5.73 ERA in 11.0 innings pitched, and Leighanna Turk has an 8.51 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched.

These two squads have met 13 times with Montevallo holding an 8-5 advantage in the overall series. The Falcons defeated the Badgers twice last season in Mobile.
