LAKELAND, Fla. – Montevallo women's golf placed 12
th in an 18-team field that featured 17 ranked teams at the Lady Moc Classic hosted by Florida Southern.
The three-round event was shortened to just 36 holes after a rain delay on Monday, Feb. 24 suspended play late in the first round of action. Of the first 18 holes, Montevallo sat in a tie for third at 11-over before slipping to 12
th after posting a 30-over team score in the second round.
Montevallo was led by freshman
Kate Cost who finished 21
st at the event with the team's low score at six-over after posting a seven-over 79 after the first round before carding a one-under 71 in round two with four birdies in the final 18 holes.
Caterina Oliveri and
Meredith Bennett tied for second on the team at 11-over for a tie for 46
th. Oliveri opened the tournament with a three-over 75 with three birdies before posting an eight-over 80 in round two. Bennett tallied a three-over 75 in round one with a trio of bridies before turning in an eight-over 80.

- Kate Cost's team-leading score of six-over featured a total of five birdies during the two-round event.
- Caterina Oliveri highlighted Montevallo's scoring with a team-leading six birdies en route to a 11-over 46th-place finish.
- Francesca DeRoover finished the tournament at 15-over after shooting six-over in round one and nine-over in round two.
- Angelina Olivieri finished the tournament with a score of 14-over with a pair of seven-over rounds in Florida.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- The Lady Moc Classic featured 18 teams with 17 teams in the field ranked by Clippd.com.
- The Falcons topped ranked squads No. 18 Palm Beach Atlantic, No. 22 Barry, No. 28 Florida Southern, No. 33 Eckerd and No. 47 Embry-Riddle.
- Montevallo finished just one stroke behind 11th-place West Florida as the only Gulf South teams to compete.
- Anderson took first in the tournament at 12-over while 13-over Lynn took second and 18-over Flagler took third.
