MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball team is prepared for their midweek match up against Spring Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Historic Sims-Galle Field in Mobile, Ala. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT.
Last Time Out
The Falcons are coming off a series victory against Embry-Riddle who competed in the NCAA Super Regionals a season ago. Montevallo took the first game 4-2 with back-to-back home runs by
Jackson Webster and
Evan Radford. The bullpen turned in a great performance as
Seth Gurr,
Matthew Bullard and
Garrett Sloan were able to slam the door on the Eagles. After dropping game two, UM won the finale.
Ethan Huddleston blasted a three-run home run to tie the ballgame in the fifth, 4-4.
Connor Crowson and
Logan Harbin drove in runs while
Mason Creacy,
Dylan Dickert and
Garrett Sloan were able to hold the lead for the rest of the game.

The Falcons are coming off a huge regional series win as they took down Embry-Riddle two games to one.
Logan Harbin comes away with a .455 batting average (5-for-11) including four singles and a home run. The Knoxville, Tennessee native picked up 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. Harbin is currently tied for 8th in the GSC in that statistic.
UM slugged 6 home runs over the series against Embry Riddle and they have the most homers in the Gulf South Conference. In game one,
Jackson Webster and
Evan Radford went back-to-back in the first inning. In game two, Montevallo had three round trippers from Harbin, Thuringer and Crowson. In the series finale,
Ethan Huddleston launched a three-run shot to tie the game at 4-4.
Montevallo had multiple great relief appearances from Falcons making their debut in the purple and gold.
Garrett Sloan was outstanding in his two relief outings during the series. He picked up two saves, both coming in the multi-inning variety. Sloan picked up three strike outs.
Mason Creacy was lights out in his Falcon debut as he went 3.2 strong innings in game three against Embry-Riddle. Creacy struck out four batters and only allowed two hits and a walk.
Trey Felker was great in game two as he recorded seven outs, two strikeouts and only allowed one hit and two walks.
Scouting Spring Hill
Spring Hill is coming off a weekend where they went 1-2 against Florida Tech. The Badgers won the first game 7-6, but dropped the final two games 4-6 and 3-4.
Parker Serio was great for the Badgers as he went 3-for-7 including a three-run home run. Miles Justin and Arlon Butts both recorded quality starts as they both went five innings. Justin only allowed one earned run and four hits while he struck out two. Butts was able to scatter five hits and only give up two earned runs. He struck out three in his first outing for the Badgers.
Last season, the Falcons split the season series against the Badgers. All-time, UM is 25-8 against Spring Hill since their first match up in 1996. In Mobile, Alabama, the Falcons have a record of 11-4 including a thrilling 14-12 win in 2024.
