MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team opened its weekend series on Friday, dropping a doubleheader to Alabama Huntsville (2-8, 1-9) at Softball Stadium at Orr Park.
GAME ONE
Taylor Lloyd pitched the first three innings for the Falcons, only allowing one earned run on four hits.
Kinsley Byrd pitched the remaining four innings and allowed no earned runs on two hits. Seven of the eight Charger runs were unearned.
The Chargers struck first with a run in the top of the first to take an early, 1-0, advantage.
The Falcons tied the game in the bottom of the second, as
Molly Pendley hit her first home run of the year, as the solo shot made the score, 1-1.
The Chargers regained the lead, plating five runs in the third to take a commanding, 6-1, lead.
UAH added runs in the fifth and sixth innings to extend the lead to 8-1.
The Falcons added one more run, as
Bentlee Stiner hit a leadoff triple in the bottom of the sixth, and
Skylar Johnson followed that up with an RBI-groundout.

The Chargers earned a dominant, 9-1, win in game two. Four Falcon pitchers combined to only allow four hits and one earned run, but three Falcon errors contributed to most of the runs scored by UAH. Montevallo's lone run came in the fourth inning, as
