MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse continues Gulf South Conference play with a trip to St. Augustine, Fla. to take on No. 11 Flagler on Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m.
So Far This Season…
The Falcons enter the weekend with a 5-8 overall record and an 0-2 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 16-15 road win over Converse on Jan. 31. Montevallo then went on a three-game skid with an 18-16 loss to Emmanuel on the road before returning home for losses to No. 12 Lynn and No. 15 Embry-Riddle. The Falcons returned to the win column with a 14-13 overtime over Tusculum on the road before topping Mars Hill, 15-6, on Feb. 16. Montevallo then dropped a road game to Young Harris, 17-13, on March 1. The Falcons picked up an 11-9 home win over McKendree on March 9 before adding a 20-6 win over Thomas More on March 11. Montevallo closed non-conference action with a loss to No. 14 Rollins before falling to Palm Beach Atlantic, 20-13, on March 24. The Falcons opened Gulf South Conference play with a 19-10 loss to Alabama Huntsville on March 31. Most recently, the Falcons fell on the road, 18-10, to Lee on April 5.
Montevallo's offense averages 17.23 points per game on an average of 11.62 goals and 5.62 assists per game with the Falcons scoring a total of 30 free-position goals on the season. The Falcons rank second in the GSC with an average of 19.54 ground balls per game while averaging 12.31 draw controls per game. Defensively, the Falcons force an average of 10.23 caused turnovers per game with 15.29 goals allowed. Montevallo tallied an average of 8.54 saves per game heading into the weekend for a .357 save percentage.

Claire Withington ranks second on the team with 39 points on 28 goals and 11 assists while
Mikaela Barbieri leads with 13 assists on the season.
Bridget Quayle highlights UM's defense with 19 caused turnovers while picking up a team-high 28 ground balls and tallying 28 draw controls.
Kiley Shea leads the team in draw controls on the season with 41 while scoring 29 points on 21 goals and eight assists.

The No. 11 Saints enter Saturday's meeting with a 9-5 overall record and a 2-0 mark in GSC play after opening the season with a 14-9 win over No. 21 Florida Tech on Feb. 1 before falling to No. 4 Florida Southern, 10-8, on Feb. 7. Flagler then dropped back-to-back games to No. 14 Saint Leo and No. 13 Lynn before picking up a 21-10 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on March 1. The Saints fell to No. 12 Embry-Riddle, 17-1, on March 5 before picking up a 17-7 win over Mount Olive on March 10. Flagler added a pair of ranked wins with an 11-10 victory over No. 12 Kuztown on March 13 before topping No. 7 UIndy, 14-10, on March 15. Flagler would add wins over Emmanuel and Reinhardt before opening GSC play with a 9-7 win over No. 19 Lander on March 29. Most recently, Flagler defeated Alabama Huntsville, 16-13, on April 5.

Flagler's offense is led by Sydney Onega who leads the GSC with a total of 53 points on the season with 27 goals and 26 assists. Carley Tepel ranks second on the team with 45 points on 36 goals and nine assists. Defensively, Jenn Seebach leads the team with 15 caused turnovers while picking up a team-high 26 ground balls. Ella Pinder leads the team with 45 draw controls with Lauren Ribadeneira allowing just 10.61 goals on a .445 save percentage in goal.

The Falcons are 0-3 against the Saints since the series began on April 23, 2022. In the first meeting, Montevallo fell 18-14 at home before dropping the lone road contest of the series, 19-8, on April 1, 2023. Most recently, Montevallo dropped a home game to Flagler, 21-4, on April 6, 2024.
