KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced its 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards along with the NABC Honors Court with the Falcons earning team recognition and four Falcons earning individual honors.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards honor all teams that have posted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2024-25 academic year while the Honors Court includes upperclassmen and graduate student-athletes who completed the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
 
Montevallo joins nearly 400 other men's basketball programs across all three NCAA divisions with a 3.49 team GPA for the 2024-25 academic year.
 
Individually, Aidan Gardiner, Derek Moore, Jay Gillispie, Max Gardner and Reese Gurner were named to the 2024-25 Honors Court.
 
Gardiner, a senior forward out of Geraldton, Australia, posted a 4.00 GPA in his final season while appearing in 19 games with a 73-percent shooting clip for an average of 3.7 points per game and 2.9 rebounds. Moore earned the academic honor with a 3.4 GPA for the year while playing in 31 games with 29 starts and an average of 14.6 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Gillispie found his way on the Honors Court with a 3.5 GPA for the year with a total 29 games played and an average of 5.7 points per game on a 43.8-percent shooting clip. Gardner, a 6'6" graduate guard, posted a 3.75 GPA while appearing in 19 games for a 46.7-percent shooting mark and a 70.6-percent clip from the stripe. Gurner, a redshirt sophomore, appeared in 25 games with an average of 13.7 minutes per game while posting a 3.8 GPA in the classroom.
