MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Men's Cross Country's Zak Ferguson has been named GSC Freshman of the Week on Wednesday, Sept. 17. 
 
Ferguson led the Falcons to a fourth-place team finish with a great individual performance at the Falcons second meet of the season. 
 
Ferguson took home his first individual title of the year at the Falcon Classic, winning the race with a time of 24:56.08. This was the second fastest 8K time in program history. His dominant effort secured crucial points for Montevallo and set the tone for the rest of the 2025 cross country season.
 
Ferguson and the Falcons compete again Sept 26 at the Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville, GA.
