BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has named
Derek Moore as the GSC Player of the Week after setting a pair of Montevallo records on the week.

On the week, Moore averaged 36.5 points per game on a 66.7-percent shooting mark while shooting 50 percent from three and 87.1 percent from the free throw line. The senior forward added an average of 7.0 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game and 1.0 blocks per game.
In a road matchup against Valdosta State on Jan. 15, Moore scored 22 points on 7-for-8 shooting and 7-for-9 at the stripe while adding a total of six rebounds, two assists and one block. Moore went on to set a pair of Montevallo records in the Falcons' road win over West Florida on Jan. 17. The senior broke the Montevallo single-game scoring record with 51 points on a 15-for-25 mark from the field while tying the UM single-game record for free throws made with 20 makes on 22 attempts from the stripe. Moore also added a total of eight rebounds, two assists and a block in his 35 minutes on the floor.
Moore and the Falcons will return home for a meeting with Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
