MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's basketball closes its final road trip of the regular season with trips to No. 13 West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville this week.

Montevallo opened the season with a 3-2 nonconference record before opening the conference slate with 4-2 record in the month of December with wins over Trevecca Nazarene, Delta State, Mississippi College and Christian Brothers. The Falcons opened the 2026 calendar year with a home win over Auburn Montgomery before topping Alabama Huntsville, 71-68 on Jan. 8. Montevallo then fell in back-to-back meeting against West Alabama and Valdosta State before topping West Florida 97-87 on the road. The Falcons then added a pair of home wins over TNU and Lee in mid-January before closing the month with road wins over Mississippi College and Delta State on Jan. 29 and 31, respectively. Montevallo returned home in early February for a 97-63 win over Union on Feb. 5 before topping Christian Brothers, 75-66, on Feb. 7. Most recently, Montevallo picked up a 73-60 win over AUM on the road on Feb. 14.
With just four games left in the season, Montevallo averages 79.0 points per game for the fifth-highest mark in the GSC while shooting 47.0 percent from the floor and 35.6 percent from deep with a 76.1-percent mark from the free throw line. On the glass, Montevallo averages 36.2 rebounds per game while posting an average of 8.9 offensive rebounds. The Falcons rank second in the GSC with an average of 15.54 assists per game while posting a 1.28 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, Montevallo allows just 68.8 points per game on a 41.0-percent shooting mark from opponents for the second-best mark in the league. Montevallo also ranks second in the Gulf South with 9.17 steals while forcing 13.9 turnovers from opponents.
Derek Moore ranks second in the GSC with an average of 18.4 points per game on a league-high 62.0-percent shooting mark while adding a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.
Brandon Fussell ranks second on the squad with an average of 16.4 points with a 43.5-percent shooting mark while adding a GSC second-best average of 5.4 assists per game while leading the conference with 2.2 steals per game.
Jaylen Curry adds 12.5 points per contest for Montevallo on a 48.5-percent shooting clip while adding 5.2 boards per game with
Devon McKinnon posting 10.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
No. 13 West Alabama heads into Thursday night's meeting with a 22-3 overall record and a 17-2 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 4-1 record in nonconference play before posting a 6-0 GSC record in the month of December. January featured a pair of home wins over Christian Brothers and Union before heading out on the road for wins over AUM and Montevallo on Jan. 8 and Jan. 10, respectively. West Alabama then topped UAH, 70-54, on Jan. 17 before falling to West Florida, 78-75, on Jan. 22. The Tigers picked up a pair of wins over Valdosta State and Trevecca Nazarene before closing January with a 77-51 loss to Lee. February opened with a 73-53 win over Mississippi College before adding an 86-81 win over Delta State. In the Tigers' last road trip, UWA topped Union, 76-69, on Feb. 12 before adding a 72-55 win over Christian Brothers on Feb. 14.
West Alabama averages 78.5 points per game on a 46.8-percent shooting mark while shooting 39.6 percent from deep and 72.3 percent from the free throw line. On the boards, West Alabama leads to conference with an average of 39.5 rebounds per game while adding a 13.7 offensive boards per game. The Tigers also average 13.88 assists per game while recording a league-best 1.42 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, West Alabama leads the league with an average of 64.2 points per game while holding opponents to just 40.5-percent shooting and 32.9 percent from deep. The Tigers average 6.80 steals per game while forcing 11.7 turnovers per game.
Rasean Frederick leads West Alabama with an average of 12.5 points per game on a 46.9-percent shooting mark with an average of 5.0 rebounds per game. Christian Thompson leads the team and ranks second in the league with an average of 10.2 rebounds per game while adding 9.9 points per game. Elliot Tulip ranks second on the squad with 11.3 points per game while shooting 46.0 percent from the floor while BJ Brown Jr. and Caleb Parr each average 10.6 points per game.
UAH holds an 18-7 overall record and a 13-6 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 5-1 nonconference record before opening the season with an 87-80 win over West Florida on Dec. 4. The Chargers then dropped back-to-back games against TNU and Lee before closing December with a pair of wins over MC and Delta State on Dec. 18 and 20, respectively. January opened with wins over Union and Christian Brothers before falling to UM, 71-68, on Jan. 8. UAH added a 100-66 win over AUM on Jan. 10 before falling to West Alabama on Jan. 17. The Chargers then posted a 2-2 record to close January with wins over VSU and Lee while dropping games against West Florida and TNU. The Chargers opened February with a four-game win streak after hosting Delta State and MC for a pair of wins on Feb. 5 and 7, respectively, before adding a 79-63 win over Christian Brothers on Feb. 12. Most recently, UAH topped Union, 89-83, on Feb. 14.
UAH averages 83.4 points per game for the fourth-highest mark in the GSC while shooting 47.9 percent from the floor and 38.3 percent from deep. The Chargers average 37.4 rebounds per game while posting an average of 9.8 offensive rebounds per game while adding an average 14.60 assists per game while posting a 1.18 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, UAH allows an average of 73.1 points per game while holding opponents to 42.3-percent shooting and 33.0 percent from deep. The Chargers also average 6.20 steals per game while forcing 11.9 turnovers per game.
Quentin Toles leads UAH with an average of 17.4 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the floor and 41.9 percent from deep. Thomas Allard ranks second on the team with 15.3 points per game on 45.0 percent shooting while adding an average of 5.3 rebounds per game. Matt Thurman ranks third on the squad with 10.8 points per game while shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and adding 5.5 rebounds per game.
