MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Track and Field returns to the Birmingham Crossplex this weekend, as the Falcons are set to compete in the UAB Green and Gold Invite (Feb. 6) and UAB Invite (Feb. 7).
The Falcons last saw action three weeks ago, with solid performances at the Samford Multi, Invite and Open (Jan. 15 – 17).
Alonzo Abara earned the lone podium finish at Samford, placing third in the Men's Pole Vault with a height of 4.41m. Zak Ferguson led the way on the track for the men, placing fifth in the One Mile with a time of 4:13.74. Christopher Johnson led the way for the throwers, placing ninth in the Weight Throw with a throw of 16.19m.
Saskia Rhind and Ava Taylor led the way for the women with a pair of fourth place finishes. Rhind placed fourth in the Pentathlon with a point total of 3267, while Taylor earned her fourth-place finish in the 5000m with a time of 18:46.32. Cesleigh Martin led the way for the throwers, placing 11th in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.71m.
Action is set to start at 9:00 a.m. CST at the Birmingham Crossplex on Friday.
