MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse heads to Huntsville, Ala. to take on Alabama Huntsville at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Montevallo heads into the weekend with a 3-8 overall record and a 1-0 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 10-8 road loss at Newberry on Jan. 30. The Falcons tallied the first win of the season with an 18-4 road win over Shorter on Feb. 7 before falling in the home opener to Young Harris, 14-13, on Feb. 14. Montevallo then fell in overtime to Emmanuel, 15-14, on Feb. 21 before dropping back-to-back home meetings with No. 6 Embry Riddle and No. 11 Saint Leo. Montevallo went on the road for a 12-10 win over North Greenville before falling on the road to Belmont Abbey, 14-13, on March 14. Montevallo added a 20-4 win over Virginia State on March 16 in UM's GSC opener before falling to No. 8 Lynn on the road. Most recently, Montevallo fell to Palm Beach Atlantic, 11-10, on March 23.
The Falcons average a total of 15.45 points per game on an average of 11.00 goals per game with 4.45 assists while posting a .510 free-position shot percentage. On the clear, Montevallo has posted a .752 clearing percentage while adding 17.27 ground balls per game and an average of 9.73 draw controls. Defensively, Montevallo allows 12.82 goals per game on a .447 save percentage while adding an average of 9.27 caused turnovers per game.
Ellery Shearer leads the team with 24 goals while adding four assists for a total of 28 points while
Claire Withington has also posted 28 points on 22 goals and six assists.
Bridget Quayle leads the squad with a total of 17 caused turnovers on the season while adding 21 ground balls and nine draw controls to go along with 13 points on 10 goals and three assists.
Asha Jamieson leads the team with 17 draw controls while adding 18 points on 17 goals and 1 assist.
UAH enters Saturday's meeting with 6-7 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference play after opening the season with an 11-10 win over Anderson on Jan. 30. The Chargers then fell in back-to-back matchups with No. 9 Embry-Riddle and No. 6 Maryville on Feb 7 and 13, respectively. UAH then picked up a 16-1 win over Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 17 before falling to No. 4 Florida Southern 12-8, on Feb. 19. UAH added a 13-7 win over UVA Wise before dropping three-straight against No. 11 Saint Leo, No. 16 Rollins, and No. 8 Lynn to open March. The Chargers then topped Palm Beach Atlantic, 14-6, on March 14 before opening GSC play with a 20-4 win over Virginia State on March 18. The Chargers would fall in overtime, 8-7, on the road at Mount Olive before adding a 23-6 win over Lee on March 26.
The Chargers average 11.54 goals per game while adding 5.15 assists for a total of 16.69 points per game. UAH also adds an average of 24.62 shots per game while posting a .881 clearing percentage on the season with 22.77 ground balls and an average of 11.08 draw controls per game. Defensively, UAH allows just 10.69 goals per game on a .362 save percentage while adding an average of 9.69 caused turnovers per game.
Olivia Rewers lead the team with a total of 40 points on the season on 29 goals and 11 assists while adding a team-high 36 draw controls and 34 ground balls to go along with a team-high 21 caused turnovers. Sarah Cole ranks second on the squad with 29 points on 21 goals and eight assists while adding a pair of game-winning goals. In goal, Brooke Denny leads the team with 59 saves for a .358 save percentage while allowing 10.85 goals per game.
