BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its latest set of softball weekly awards on Tuesday, as Montevallo's Taylor Rogers was named GSC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Rogers had a solid weekend, posting a .400 batting average, 1.000 slugging percentage, and .500 on-base percentage, as Montevallo swept Delta State. The freshman totaled four hits, two home runs, three RBIs, one stolen base, and five runs scored. She also drew a pair of walks. Defensively, she posted a 1.000 fielding percentage.
On the season, Rogers leads the GSC in stolen bases (35), while ranking second in hits (52) and fifth in batting average (.423).
Rogers and the Falcons return to action this weekend, hosting Christian Brothers in a three-game series.
