BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its preseason poll and All-Conference lists on Thursday, with the Falcons slated to finish fourth in the league. The freshman trio of
Libby Rogers,
Ellie Scharlow and
Anna Vandell were also named to the GSC's Newcomers to Watch list.
In the preseason poll, the Falcons garnered 51 points to finish fourth. UAH led the way with 79 points and seven first-place votes, followed by Trevecca with 71 points and two first-place votes. Lee finished third with 65 points and one first-place vote. Christian Brothers (44), Valdosta State (43), Mississippi Christian (41), West Alabama (23), Union (18) and AUM (15) rounded out the poll.
Rogers joins Montevallo following a standout prep career as a setter at Fairhope High School, where she earned AHSAA First Team All-State honors. Scharlow comes to the Falcons from New Albany, Ind., and is expected to make an immediate impact after eclipsing 1,000 kills during her high school career. Vandell, an opposite hitter from DeLand, Fla., joins Montevallo after earning All-Region honors and helping lead DeLand to a pair of district titles over the past two seasons.

The Falcons open the 2026 regular season on Friday, Aug. 28, against Ouachita Baptist and Harding at the McKendree Invitational.
