TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's tennis team defeated Tuskegee University 8-1 in a non-conference match Feb. 13.
The Falcons (2-1) won five of six singles matches and all three doubles matches against the Tigers.
Junior Niki Polcerova defeated Navilla Paul of Tuskegee 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match. Junior Liucija Smaizyte topped Kimberly Bowen of Tuskegee 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles match.
Junior Anais Robert defeated Cheryl Dixon of Tuskegee 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 singles match. Sophomore Allison Howell topped Akili Smith-Washington of Tuskegee 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles match.
Sophomore Juanita Ossa defeated Christa Ratliff of Tuskegee 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 singles match. Junior Lindsay Kate Glausier fell to Raynah Favor 8-4 in the No. 6 singles match.
Polcerova and Robert defeated Bowen and Paul 8-2 in the No. 1 doubles match. Smaizyte and Ossa topped Ratcliff and Favor 8-0 in the No. 2 doubles match.
Howell and Glausier defeated Dixon and Smith-Washington 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles match.
The Falcons return to action Feb. 20 with a non-conference match on the road at Clark Atlanta University.
