BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Klara Podskubkova of the Montevallo women's tennis team has been named to the All-Gulf South Conference Second Team, the league announced Wednesday.

Podskubkova posted a 3-6 record at the No. 1 singles position, highlighted by consecutive wins over nationally-ranked opponents. She defeated Tennessee Wesleyan's Olivia Alcala (NAIA No. 24) in a three-set battle, 6-2, 6-7 (2), 10-6, before earning a 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 victory over then-No. 4 Carlota Verdu of West Florida the following weekend.

In doubles play, the senior from Jihlava, Czech Republic led the Falcons alongside Claire Jaramba, compiling a team-best 7-6 record. The duo's season was highlighted by a 6-4 win over No. 3 Emily Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett of Mississippi College.

Podskubkova and the Falcons return to action tomorrow in the GSC Quarterfinals against No. 7 Mississippi College, with first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
