MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's tennis team fell to Flagler College 5-1 in a Peach Belt Conference match March 29.

The Falcons (7-6 overall, 4-5 in Peach Belt Conference) won one of three doubles matches against the Saints. Flagler won three singles matches while the remaining three matches were not completed after the Saints clinched the victory.

Junior Liucija Smaizyte and sophomore Juanita Ossa defeated the Saints' Kelly Stewart and Krista Ingrilli 8-4 in the No. 3 doubles match.

Juniors Niki Polcerova and Anais Robert fell to Hanna Goettsching and Esther Santiago of Flagler 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles match. Senior Haley Highfield and sophomore Allison Howell fell to the Saints' Barbora Sebkova and Thaisa Pereira 9-8 in the No. 2 doubles match.

Smaizyte fell to Santiago 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles match. Howell fell to Goettsching 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 4 singles match.

Highfield fell to Pereira 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 5 singles match.

The Falcons will return to action Saturday, April 5 on their home courts with a Peach Belt Conference contest against Clayton State University.

First serve is set for 2 p.m.
