MONTGOMERY, Ala. – University of Montevallo freshman Anne-Christine Leu led the Falcons' at the Gulf South Conference Fall tournament last weekend after finishing runner-up in the Flight C singles tournament.

Freshman Leu defeated Sofia Navarro of Auburn University Montgomery and Nicole Bueno of Mississippi College before losing to Georgina Morrall Sallom of West Alabama in a close 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 defeat.

Senior Emily Beatty defeated University of West Georgia's Jordan England 6-0, 6-1 to win the Flight A back-up tournament, while Lauren Pero also knocked off Beth Owen of Delta State 7-5, 7-5 to win the Flight F consolation final.

Junior Amanda Gautreaux defeated Sophie St. Amant of Delta State University 7-5, 6-2, while freshman Whitney Hamilton beat Bailey McCammon of West Georgia 5-7, 6-4, 10-2 in singles' action.

Beatty and Leu topped Auburn-Montgomery's Sofia Navarro and Julia Enderink 8-7 to win the Flight A doubles back-up tournament.
