PENSACOLA, Fla. - University of Montevallo junior Tanguy David finished runner up in the back draw bracket of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II South Regional tournament Sept. 21-24.

David, one of four men's tennis student-athletes competing at the event, was defeated 6-4, 6-3 in the finals of the back draw bracket by Jesus Garcia of Lee University.

David advanced to the finals after defeating Carlos Trujilo of Mississippi College by default in the semifinals.

On the women's side, Eva Dirr led the Falcons, winning three singles matches. Dirr defeated. Daryna Hukasian of West Alabama 3-6, 6-3, 11-9 and also took down Karoline Kirchtag of UAH 6-7, 6-3, 10-5. 

Dirr advanced to the semifinals of the back draw bracket after winning by default against Nova Southeastern's Isabella Lowery. Dirr was defeated 6-3, 6-2 in the semis by Fabiola Cardenas of Delta State 6-4, 6-2.

Philippe Zehender and Milan Ludlage led the Falcon's in the doubles matches. The duo defeated the pairing of La Tallec/Konovalov from Mississippi College 6-3, in the first round of back draw bracket. Zehender and Ludlage then took down Spring Hill's Nitz/Graevinghoff 6-0, in the second round.
