BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Montevallo senior outside hitter, Desiree Rodriguez received Gulf South Conference weekly honors from the conference office this week.

Rodriguez was named the GSC Offensive Player of the Week for her play against Shorter and Lee over the weekend. The outside hitter totaled 37 kills with an average of 4.63 kills per set while hitting 0.381, in two key GSC wins. The Chandler, Arizona native, registered a career-high 21 kills in the win over Lee on Saturday, and totaled 32 digs through eight sets, including a career-high 16 digs in each match.

This is the first GSC weekly award for Rodriguez this season.
