Box Score COLUMBUS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women's tennis team was swept by nationally-ranked Columbus State University 7-0 in non-conference play Feb. 23.
The Cougars entered the match ranked No. 6 nationally in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II team rankings.

Maria Garcia fell to Marleen Tilgner 6-4, 6-3 of Columbus State in the No. 1 singles' match. Sophomore
Emily Beatty fell to the Cougars' Beatriz Lopez 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles' match.
Freshman
Anne-Christine Leu fell to Candice Paya of Columbus State 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 singles' match. Sophomore
Dorotea Hanzek fell to the Cougars' Luise Sachs 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles' match.
Junior
Amanda Gautreaux split her first two sets against Natalia Kattah Paz of Columbus State 6-3, 1-6 before falling 10-3 in the tiebreaker in the No. 5 singles' match. Freshman
Whitney Hamilton fell to the Cougars' Clara Audap 7-5, 6-0 in the No. 6 singles' match.
Garcia and Hanzek fell to Lopez and Tilgner 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles' match.
Beatty and Leu fell to Sachs and Noa Davico 6-3 in the No. 2 doubles' match, while senior
Rayne Sinclair and Gautreaux fell to Paya and Paz 6-2 in the No. 3 doubles' match.
The Falcons will return to action in a neutral court match Friday, March 1 against Spring Hill at the AUM Tennis Complex in Montgomery.
