BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference honored two of Montevallo's volleyball players as players of the week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
For the second week in a row, the conference recognized
Megan Schram as the Defender of the Week. The Newnan, Georgia native collected 51 digs with 17 assists, two aces, and a kill over a three game span last week.
Sophomore middle blocker
Allie Dishman took the title of Freshman of the Week after a stellar performance in three games last week. in total, Dishman put down 32 kills with eight blocks, eight digs, six aces, and three assists. The Carrollton, Georgia native currently ranks fourth in the league in hitting percentage at .346, and is a major contributor to the Montevallo offensive effort that tops some of the GSC statistical categories. the Falcons are third overall in hitting percentage (.204), third in total assists (1256), and third in kills (1351).
Schram, Dishman, and the rest of the Montevallo unit will be on the court Friday, November 12th at 6:00 PM with a match up against West Alabama in Trustmark Arena.
