MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Falcons are officially in a mired in a serious spiral towards falling out of contention for the postseason after two more losses last week. The losing skid reached four games after setbacks against West Alabama (65-51) and West Georgia (97-87). The Falcons (8-12 and 6-6 in Gulf South Conference, fell to six in the conference standings. One bright spot for the Falcons was the play of Braxton Bertolette who unleashed a career performance against West Georgia scoring 33 points.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Junior guard Marisa Snodgrass led the Montevallo women's basketball team to victory over West Alabama with a season-high 24 points, shooting 66.7% (6-9) from downtown. Montevallo won 78-61 to improve their record 8-11 and  4-7 in the GSC. .The Falcons, though currently in 10th place in the conference, are still in contention for a spot in the GSC tournament. The Falcons were scheduled to face West Georgia on Saturday, but the game had to be rescheduled do to COVID concerns. The game against UWG has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 14 in Carrollton, Ga.

2022 Emory Crossplex Showdown

Men's and Women's Track and Field
The Falcons track and field teams had a very busy weekend, competing in the Samford Multi and KMS Invitational at the Birmingham Crossplex. After having a handful of athletes compete at Samford in the Heptathlon and Pentathlon, the Montevallo track and field went on to complete and the KMS Invitational. Senior Joe Leventry won the 3,000k with a record-breaking time of 8:14.80.

Swimming Generic

Men's and Women's Swimming
The Falcons swim teams were swept by Birmingham Southern last Friday, with the women falling 184-73 amd the men's came up on wrong side of a 169-88 score.
