Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The University of Montevallo women's tennis team was eliminated from the Gulf South Conference tournament by 5th-seeded Valdosta State 4-2 at the O'Connor Tennis Complex. The loss ended the Falcons season at 9-9, while VSU advanced to the semifinals the tournament.
The Falcons took the early lead in the match, winning two of three in doubles.
Mireia Turro and
Cyba Ozzor won No. 1 doubles 6-3 and
Emily Hafner and Lieselotte Hartlohner took No. 3 doubles 7-5. In singles, VSU pulled ahead, winning both No. 1 and No. 2 matches. Hafner evened things up, defeating Anastasiia Vorobiova 6-1, 6-2 in No. 3 singles. But, the Blazers won No. 4 and No. 5 singles to clinch the match.
