MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo softball team has announced its schedule for the 2024 season. Softball's 2024 slate will feature 55 games, including 25 non-conference games against 12 different opponents and 30 Gulf South Conference matchups.
 
The season will begin for the Falcons as they take a trip to Florida as they will take on a trio of Sunshine State schools in the University of Tampa (Feb. 2), Eckerd College (Feb. 3) and Florida Southern College (Feb. 4).
 
The Falcons will continue play as they will compete in the Charger Chillout, hosted by the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where they will face Trevecca Nazarene University (Feb. 9), Young Harris College (Feb. 9), Carson-Newman University (Feb. 10), and Georgia Southwestern State University (Feb. 10).
 
Montevallo will then travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on Spring Hill College on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 in a three-game series. Softball will return home and play their first home games of the 2024 season on Feb. 20 as they welcome in the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes to Orr Park for a midweek double header.
 
The Falcons will open up GSC play at home against Christian Brothers University on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25 and then will play their first GSC road series of 2024 as they travel to Delta State on Mar. 1 and Mar. 2. UM will take on Lee University on the road on Mar. 5 for a quick two-game midweek series and will return home to host the University of West Georgia on Mar. 8 and Mar. 9 and Miles College on Mar. 12 as part of a five-game home stand.
 
The softball team will then have an eight-game road trip against Mississippi College on Mar. 15 and Mar. 16, a midweek clash against the reigning DII National Champions, North Georgia, on Mar. 19, and then will end the trip with a three-game series against UAH on Mar. 22 and Mar. 23. The Falcons will end the month of March at home against Valdosta State on Mar. 29 and Mar. 30.
 
Montevallo will start the month of April with a five-game road trip and will take on Columbus State for an out of conference midweek on Apr. 2 and Shorter University on Apr. 5 and Apr. 6. The Falcons will return home the following week against the University of West Florida on Apr. 12 and Apr. 13.
 
On Apr. 16, Montevallo will face off against Miles College in their last midweek of the season. UM will have their last road trip of the regular season later that week when they travel to Union University on Apr. 19 and Apr. 20. The Falcons will wrap up the regular season at home against Auburn University at Montgomery on Apr. 26 and Apr. 27.
 
The Gulf South Conference tournament will begin on May 1 and will continue through May 4 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
