MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo track & field teams recorded 20 top-three finishes, which included seven first place finishes at the Falcon Classic on Friday.
Emily Wolf led the way for the Falcons, capturing a pair of top finishes and a third-place finish in her outstanding day. Wolf earned those first place finishes in the Discus Throw (44.93m) and Shot Put (12.43m), while placing third overall in the Hammer Throw (43.04m).
Natalie Warner also recorded a top finish, placing first in the 1500m with a time of 4:51.21.
The Falcons saw three individual first-place finishes on the men's side, including
Julian Fore (800m – 1:55.58),
Eran Foye Jr. (High Jump – 1.99m), and
Gabe Gamble (Triple Jump – 14.38m).
The Men's 4x100 Relay team consisting of
Amari Lewis, Dylan Segraves,
Dwight Bellamy, and
Walter Womack also earned a first-place finish. The team finished with a time of 41.15.
Both the Men's and Women's 4x400 Relay teams earned second place finishes on the day. The men's relay team consisting of
Patrick Sherrill,
Jacob Harper,
Walter Womack, and
Julian Fore finished with a time of 3:21.24. The women's relay team consisting of
Lauren Dellezay,
Sarah Turner,
Leah Dendy, and Rachael Smith clocked in at 4:27.55.
Katie Wilkerson had a solid meet, earning a pair of second place finishes in the Discus Throw (44.52m) and the Javelin Throw (38.59m). Other Falcons to record second place finishes included
Jayvian Kendrick (110m Hurdles – 15.25),
Cameron Prosser (3000m Steeple – 10.06.39), and
Zauren Burton (High Jump – 1.55m)
Caleb Kariuki garnered a pair of third place finishes in the Long Jump (7.07m) and the Triple Jump (14.38m).
Farrah Hawkins (Long Jump – 5.27m) and
Skylar Suggitt (Pole Vault – 3.00m) also earned third place finishes for UM.
Montevallo returns to action at the end of the week for the Mississippi State Alumni Bulldog Relays (March 20-22).
