MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's tennis team heads to Montgomery, Ala. to face off against third-seeded Lee in the first round of the GSC Tournament on Thursday.
So Far This Season…
Montevallo earned the No. 6 seed in the GSC Tournament, holding an overall record of 8-7 and a 3-5 mark in GSC play.
The Falcons opened the season with a 5-2 victory over Valdosta State, before falling in back-to-back contests to West Florida and West Alabama. Montevallo followed that up splitting a pair of contests in Columbus, Ga., defeating Georgia College and falling to Columbus State. The Falcons struck fire, going on a six-game win streak, defeating Spring Hill, Young Harris, North Greenville, and Francis Marion in non-conference action, while taking down GSC opponents Delta State and Christian Brothers. Montevallo dropped its last four contests of the regular season, falling to Augusta, Lee, Mississippi College, and Auburn Montgomery.
Elena Ondobo has posted the best singles record, going 11-4 on the season, primarily playing at the No. 2 spot where she has posted an 8-2 record.
London Breedlove posts a 10-4 singles record and
Johanna Kullman posts a 9-6 record.
Klara Podskubkova and
Claire Jaramba have been solid in doubles play with an 8-7 record.
Scouting Lee
Lee holds an overall record of 13-2 and a 6-2 mark in conference play. After starting the season 13-0, the Lady Flames dropped its last two contests of the regular season to West Alabama and Mississippi College.
The Falcons and the Lady Flames faced off on earlier this month, with Lee earning a 5-2 victory in Montevallo.

London Breedlove captured singles victories in the contest.
