BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its fourth set of men's soccer weekly awards on Tuesday morning, with
Seth Acton being named GSC Defender of the Week.
Acton picks up weekly honors for the first time in his career and he is the first Falcon to garner weekly honors this season.
The Birmingham, Ala. native had a solid week, as an anchor in the midfield and defensive front, tallying 203 minutes total across three games. Acton also accounted for two goals, one assist, and five points total, while recording five shots with three of those being on goal. The senior's most important goal came on Friday evening, as he scored the equalizer in the 69
th minute to secure a 1-1 draw in Montevallo's GSC opener at Lee. Acton scored the first goal in Montevallo's 3-1 win over Carson-Newman and provided an assist in the Falcons 3-2 win over Trevecca.
Acton and the Falcons return to action on Friday, Oct. 3, as Montevallo faces in-state foe, UAH in Huntsville, Ala.
