Box Score 2 HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team split its Friday doubleheader at No. 25 UAH, setting up a rubber match on Saturday.
GAME ONE
Taylor Lloyd earned her 12th win in the circle, while pitching her tenth complete game of the season. The senior allowed one run and struck out two in seven innings of work.
Montevallo got on the board first, as Bentlee Stiner hit an RBI-ground out to score Taylor Rogers in the top of the first, putting the Falcons ahead, 1-0.
Stiner would once again bring Rogers home, this time hitting an RBI-single to extend the lead to 2-0 in the top of the fifth.
UAH got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, as an RBI-ground out cut the Montevallo lead in half, 2-1. The Chargers looked to tie the game, but strong defense from Rogers, Becca Benton, and Lillie Piersol denied UAH a chance at getting another run.
The Chargers looked to rally in the bottom of the seventh, putting the tying run on base, but Taylor Lloyd shut the door forcing a ground out to secure the Montevallo, 2-1, victory in the series opener.

GAME TWO
Berkley Mooney and Kinsley Byrd split time in the circle, as Mooney earned the start and went 2.2 innings, while Byrd pitched the final 3.1 innings.
The Chargers struck first in game two, with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
The Falcons responded in the top of the second, as Becca Benton hit her tenth home run of the season to tie the game at one run apiece.
The Chargers added a pair of runs through the next few innings to pull ahead, 3-1, after five innings.
Montevallo looked to respond in the top of the sixth, as Becca Benton, Makayla Peters, and Riley Tyree reached to load the bases. A strikeout would end the inning to keep the Falcons off the board.
The Chargers added one more run in the bottom of the sixth to stretch its lead to three runs, 4-1, heading to the seventh.
The Falcons looked to rally in the top of the seventh, as Emma Faulk started things off with an RBI-double. Emma Hawkins later hit an RBI-ground out to cut the deficit to, 4-2. A pair of strikeouts would end the rally, as UAH secured a, 4-2, win in game two.
