MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo is set to host the 2026 Gulf South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Wednesday, Apr. 29 through Friday, May 1, at the Montevallo Track & Field/Lacrosse Stadium.
On the men's side, Jeremiah Fails leads the way for the Falcon sprinters and holds top-ten times in the GSC in multiple events. Fails ranks second in the 100m (10.32), third in the 200m (21.31), and eighth in the 400m (48.57). Zak Ferguson leads the way for the distance runners, ranking fifth in the league in both the 1500m (3:48.66) and 5000m (14:26.52). Christopher Johnson leads the way for the Falcon throwers, as he holds the top Discus mark in the GSC (56.43m). Johnson also ranks third in Shot Put (15.64m) and fourth in Hammer (51.81m). Many Falcon jumpers have also performed well, including Fails who holds the top mark in the Long Jump (7.06m).
On the women's side, Ka'Mya Jackson leads the way for the Falcon sprinters and holds top-six times in the GSC in multiple events. Jackson ranks fifth in both the 100m (11.92) and 200m (24.40), while ranking sixth in the 400m (56.84). Katie Wilkerson leads the way for the throwers, ranking second in the Discus (44.04m) and third in the Javelin (40.97m). Leah Dendy ranks third in Pole Vault with a height of 3.45m, while Natania Nasieku ranks fourth in Triple Jump (11.49m).
